PROBE FLOAT ASSEMBLY SWITCH L
An "assembly" is set of manufactured parts or components that work together in unison as one mechanism or device.
Float switches are used in many types of foodservice equipment including ice machines, beverage systems, and dishwashers. A simple example of a liquid level "float" is seen in coffee brewing systems where they are used to indicate the amount of coffee or water in the brewer or dispenser. Liquid level floats, also known as float balls, are spherical, cylindrical, oblong or similarly shaped objects, made from either rigid or flexible material, that are buoyant in water and other liquids. They are non-electrical hardware frequently used as visual sight-indicators for surface demarcation and level measurement. They may also be incorporated into switch mechanisms or translucent fluid-tubes as a component in monitoring or controlling liquid level.
Liquid level floats, or float switches commonly used in Ice making equipment use the principle of material buoyancy (differential densities) to follow fluid levels. Solid floats are often made of plastics with a density less than water or other application liquid, and so they float. Hollow floats filled with air are much less dense than water or other liquids, and are appropriate for applications such as auto-fill and flow control systems.
A float switch is a type of level sensor, a device used to detect the level of liquid within a tank. The switch may be used to control a pump, as an indicator, an alarm, or to control other devices.
There are many types of probes used in restaurant equipment for the measurement of temperature, humidity, liquid level, ice level, product or ingredient levels and other critical operating limits and control points (HACCP). A probe is a small device, especially an electrode, used for measuring, testing, or sensing and obtaining information. Probes are commonly thin and oblong, and may be flexible. They provide data output to other components to control operation of the equipment.
In electrical engineering, a switch is an electrical component that can disconnect or connect the conducting path in an electrical circuit, interrupting the electric current or diverting it from one conductor to another. Switches of all types are used in the operation of restaurant equipment. The most common type of switch is an electro-mechanical device consisting of one or more sets of movable electrical contacts connected to external circuits. When a pair of contacts is touching, current can pass between them, while when the contacts are separated no current can flow.
