In a commercial kitchen, level indicators may be used in equipment such as steamers, fryers, coffee systems, or condiment dispensers to indicate the fill level of water, oil, or other toppings. As the liquid level changes, the indicator allows the user to easily see how much is left without having to remove the lid it or measure it manually. They can be as simple as an auxiliary tube with markings, or they may be float, magnet, or sensor driven electronic measuring components.
