A screw conveyor or auger conveyor is a mechanism that uses a rotating helical screw blade, called a "flighting", usually within a tube, to move liquid or granular materials. Screw conveyors in modern restaurant equipment are often used horizontally or at a slight incline as an efficient way to move semi-solid materials, including food, ice, waste, wood chips, cereal grains, meat, and many others.

A bushing is an independent plain bearing that is inserted into a housing to provide a bearing surface for rotary applications; this is the most common form of a plain bearing. Common designs include solid (sleeve and flanged), split, and clenched bushings.
