In restaurant equipment applications using heat transfer, a condenser is a device or unit used to compress a gaseous substance into a liquid state through cooling. In so doing, the latent heat is released by the substance and transferred to the surrounding environment. For example, a refrigerator uses a condenser to get rid of heat extracted from the interior of the unit to the outside air. Condensers are typically air cooled or water cooled. A "condensing unit" may refer to the entire refrigeration system including the compressor.

Fans are used in restaurant equipment for a variety of purposes, including ventilation, cooling, and air circulation. In kitchen equipment, fans are used to ventilate cooking areas, remove smoke and odors, and maintain a consistent temperature. Fans are also used in refrigeration equipment, such as refrigerators and freezers, to circulate air and maintain a consistent temperature throughout the appliance.

There are several types of fans that can be used in restaurant equipment, including axial fans, centrifugal fans, and blowers. Axial fans are used to move air in a linear direction, and are commonly used in ventilation systems and cooling equipment. Centrifugal fans are used to move air in a circular direction, and are often used in refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems. Blowers are used to move air at high pressures and are commonly used in ovens and other cooking equipment to provide the force needed to circulate hot air.

Fans are an important component of many types of restaurant equipment, and are used to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment, as well as the quality and safety of the food being prepared.

A particulate filter is a device composed of fibrous or porous materials which remove solid particulates. A water filter removes impurities by lowering contamination of water using a fine physical barrier.

Grease filters are designed to remove grease particles from the exhaust hoods in a kitchen air stream. Exhaust systems that have broken, missing, or undersized air filters are prone to collect accumulations of highly combustible grease deposits throughout the entire duct system.  Air filters or grease filters may also be used inside of cooking, beverage, and refrigeration equipment to reduce the build up of crumbs and dust, and to limit grease migration.

Fryer filters help remove particles from your fryer systems and preserve food quality. They act as a fine sieve, cleaning the oil of food particulate as it passes through. Fryer filter papers are available in both single sheets and with an envelope design, into which the oil is poured.

Finally, there are air filters used in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and air handlers. These filters are designed to trap dust, pollen, and even bacteria and viruses during ventilation while protecting the internal components of the heating and cooling system.

A grill is a perforated cover for an air duct (used for heating, cooling, or ventilation, or a combination thereof). Grills sometimes have louvers which allow the flow of air to be directed.

A grill may also be a device that cooks food by applying heat from below. There are several varieties of grills, with most falling into one of three categories: gas-fueled, charcoal, or electric.

In frying, a grill may refer to a metallic filtering device used to remove food debris from the cooking oil.
