Doors are common in restaurant equipment design from refrigerators and freezers, to ovens to ice machines. A door is a hinged or otherwise movable panel that allows access to an enclosure, cabinet, bin, or other cavity or container.  A door assembly comprises the components that work in tandem to allow the door to function properly such as the door set, strike, catch and lock set. Doors may be hinged and swing open and closed, or they may slide within a frame. Very frequently, restaurant equipment doors feature tempered glass windows which allow for visual inspection or merchandising of food and beverage products.

A fuse is an electrical safety device that operates to provide over-current protection of an electrical circuit. Its essential component is a metal wire or strip that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby stopping or interrupting the current. Once a fuse has blown, it must be replaced or rewired, depending on the type. There are thousands of different fuse designs which have specific current and voltage ratings, breaking capacity and response times, depending upon the function of the piece of restaurant equipment.
