FLANGE GASKET

A flange is an external or internal ridge, or rim (lip), for strength or for attachment to another object, as the flange on the end of a pipe, steam cylinder, etc. The term "flange" is also used for a kind of tool used to form flanges. Pipes with flanges can be assembled and disassembled easily.

Gaskets are used in restaurant equipment to create a seal between two surfaces, such as between the door of a refrigerator and the frame or between two pieces of metal in a gas range. The gasket helps to prevent leaks of air or liquids, as well as to maintain a consistent temperature inside the equipment.
