A hopper is a storage container used to dispense liquids or solids through the use of a chute or tube to restrict flow, sometimes assisted by mechanical agitation or a pump.  A hopper may be refrigerated or heated.

Levers are often used with foodservice equipment. For example, a lever is commonly found in beverage, condiment, and ice dispensing equipment where it is used to activate product flow. Coffee urns may use a lever to dispense coffee or hot water for tea. Most soda fountains use levers to dispense soda or other carbonated beverages.
